T. Andreas, Chicago, IL. Coffey County -- DR. D. O. HOPKINS, was born in Miami County, Ohio, in 1835, and lived in his native State until he came to Kansas in 1873, and located in Burlington, and engaged in the practice of medicine. Dr. Hopkins retired from the practice in 1880, and has since been engaged in loaning money. He was married in Ohio in September, 1858, to Miss Amy Cross, a native of Ohio. They have one child by his first wife -- Laura A. He lost his wife in 1866, and was married in Kansas in March, 1872, to Miss Mary E. Stoutemyer, a native of Ohio. Dr. Hopkins was educated in medicine at Starling College, Columbus, Ohio, and in the Cincinnati Surgical College, and was engaged in the practice of his profession from 1858 to 1880. He is a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
