CORWIN FERGUS, farmer and stock raiser, Section 29, Porter Precinct, P. O. Humboldt, was born and reared in Miami County, Ohio, and was identified with farming there until 1868, when he located here and has very actively conducted his present business since. In 1871 he married Miss Frances Forgy, who was born and reared in Clark County, Ohio. They have two sons and one daughter living--Ernest S., Oma L., and Corwin C.--and have buried one daughter--Olga, aged two years--in 1876, in Mound Cemetery, Porter Precinct. Mr. Corwin Fergus has been an active worker in the furtherance of all measures tending toward the growth and development of the industrial and social life of his locality since coming here. He is at present one of the board of directors of the Farmers' and Merchants' Bank of Humboldt, which incumbency he has held since its organization. His military record is as a member of Company B, One Hundred and Forty-seventh Ohio Volunteer Infantry, with which regiment he was in active service from 1864 until the close of the war, when he was honorably discharged.
