LAKE COUNTY OHIO ************************************************************* File contributed to the Lake County, Ohio Biographies Project by Deb Breniser rbcobb@ncweb.com January 6, 2000 ************************************************************** From the 1915 Lake County, Ohio Atlas HOME ACRES contains 54.80 acres, owned by Mrs. Sarah Hurlburt and Clyde Hull. Their Post Office is Perry, Ohio. The Farm is located on the North Ridge Road, two and one-half miles from Perry Village, its nearest market. Its resources consist of general soil products, onions, garden truck, celery, corn and peaches, there being about 3,000 peach trees. The water supply is received from wells forced into the residence and barn by gasoline engine. A natural gas well is also located on the farm. The buildings are in excellent condition, barns up-to-date with cement flooring and the residence is in all conveniences. The farm's surface is level. its soil a sandy loam and is considered very productive. The farm came into possession of Isaac S. Hurlburt, about 1870, and from him by deed to the present owners. Mr. Clyde Hull purchased his one-half of the farm of John Hopkins in 1910. Mrs. Hurlburt was formerly Sarah Lockwood. Isaac Hurlburt was killed by being thrown from a buggy in 1908. He was considered one of the progressive, up-to-date farmers of this section and his death was mourned by the general neighborhood.
