LAKE COUNTY OHIO ************************************************************* File contributed to the Lake County, Ohio Biographies Project by Deb Breniser rbcobb@ncweb.com January 6, 2000 ************************************************************** From the 1915 Lake County, Ohio Atlas DELIGHTFUL VIEW is the name given Thomas E. Stinchcomb's farm, so named from its buildings. Its location is on the North Ridge Road, two and one-half miles from Perry. This farm is devoted to dairying, fruit cultures and soil products common to this section. Its dairy products average 30 gallons per day. The dairy is composed of graded Holsteins and Durhams. The fruit department includes peaches, apples and small fruit. Its water supply is received from wells by windmill power. Its buildings include an up-to-date residence with all modern conveniences, with barn and out buildings necessary for a first-class farm. Its soil is a black muck and sandy loam, which of course is exceedingly productive. The surface of the farm is level, but gives a commanding view of the Lake, being located about three-fourths of a mile distant. Mr. Stinchcomb purchased the farm in 1892, and has made most valuable improvements, which have added largely to the farms value. He and his family have resided on this farm since its purchase in 1892. (From Lake County tax maps, I've found that this farm is located on the south side of Rt. 20 and is across the street from Perry Park Road, there is a small lot that goes north of Rt. 20 and is on the N.E. corner of Perry Park and Rt. 20. I also found that the property was previously owned by, Joseph W. Cook.)
