LANDON, farmer, P.O. Ada, was born December 10, 1847, in Portage County, Ohio. He is a son of James and Ruth (Dudley) Landon, both natives of Connecticut and of English descent. His father, a carpenter and farmer, came to Ohio in 1852 and settled in Liberty Township. Our subject received his education at the common schools, and selected the occupation of farmer, which he has followed through life. In 1868, he went to Michigan, but returned in 1870. He was married in 1875 to Sarah M. McElroy, a daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (Morrison) McElroy, the former of Irish and the latter of Scotch and Irish descent. Two children have blessed this union-Eva L. and Grace A. Mr. Landon is a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. In politics, he is a Republican. He is the owner of a fine farm of thirty acres, and a house and three lots, all secured by his own exertions.
