"Found a handwritten short autobiography written by Stephen that he
submitted to the Fulton Co Pioneer Society sometime in the 1880 or
1890's. The society was formed in 1883 and they were collecting history
of the early settlers. They had 2 small boxes of sumitted obituaries
and/or bios that were recently found when Fulton Co. Recorder's office
moved to new location.   They were all submitted between 1883-1900.
Stephen Eldredge wrote his own and sent it in to the secretary.  It is
only about 2/3 of a page .  I am transcribing it here the way he spelled
and wrote it."


Stephen Eldredge was Born in Stark Co. Tescaroyas Township, Ohio on 19
of December 1824 being about 4 miles South of Massilon in 1832 or 33
moved with his parents to Medina, Now Summett Co Bath township, Ohio  in
the Spring of 1839 moved with an oulder brother to Wood Co. Ohio whare
Bowling green now is built on the 9 day of June 1846 I was maried to
Miss Diantha P. Hunter at Bowling green by Rev H. W. Winters in the
Spring of 1855 I moved with my Family to Fulton Co., OH our Family then
consisted of 5 children 3 of them now living.  Farming has ben my
occupation hav ben a member of the M. E. Church Sence I was 18 years
ould  average weight 175   highth 5 feet 8 inch.
