J. M. G. WATT, confectioner, was born in Darke County, Ohio, July 28,
1854, where he resided until 1856, and then came to the State and
settled with his parents in Anderson County; there he continued on the
farm until 1865, when he came to Lawrence and engaged in various
callings until 1882, when he formed a partnership with Harry Hutson in
the confectionery business. The business was established in
1872, and has from the start been prosperous. Nine men are employed in
this establishment. Mr. Watt was married to Miss Jennie Kibbe, of
Lawrence, in 1882.
