Samuel Flickinger was born in Lancaster Co, PA.  At age four he moved to McConnellstown, Franklin, now Fulton Co., PA.  At 19 in 1811 he migrated with his parents of Osnaburg, near Canton, Ohio.  There he married Phylinda Healy.  About 1833 the moved westward to Crawford County.
