Landed in New Foundland 8-10-1801.Reached Baltimore MD approx 8-20-1801 and commenced working for a Mr.Longshore.There he married Ellinore (aka Elenor)Burrows Oct 16,1802.She was born 1780 in Ballybrich,County Down,Ireland.From Baltimore they moved to Pgh PA and in 1807 purchased the southeast one qtr of Section 31 in Madison Twp.where he cleared a farm. He worked as a carpenter.He was a Capt of the Guard which held prisoners in the War of 1812.Assisted in conveying 700 prisoners to Pgh.Was the father of 12 children and ruling elder in United Presbyterian Church.He died at Wellsville OH, 99 yrs 3 months of age and buried in West Beaver UP Church Cemetery.
