Western Biographical Publishing Company, 1882. Milford Twp Old Mr. COOLEY settled in the lower end of Darrtown in 1815. He was from Kentucky; his family consisted of but himself and wife. The same year be built the stone house now occupied by Mr. WAGONFEED. Conrad DARR, in 1815, began a tanyard, carried on for seventeen years, in the upper end of the village. He was followed by his son Hiram, who continued in the business of his father for nine years, and also carried on boot and shoe making, on a small scale, for fifty years.
