ELIJAH CURTISS, M.D., is the son of Abner and Persis Curtiss, and brother of 
Daniel, Maria, Persis, Sarah, Mary, Anna and Joel. He was born in Berkshire 
County, Massachusetts, on the 11th of April, 1812. He married Flora F., 
daughter of Elijah and Elizabeth Hanchet. Their children are Charles L. and 
Mary E. Mrs. Curtiss was born in Herkimer County, New York, on the 21st of 
June 1818. She has a sister, Elizabeth; and one brother, Hiram. Dr. Curtiss 
has practised medicine continuously for 40 years, and has been Coroner of the 
county.
