RUDOLPH ALTHAUS was born in the canton of Basle, Switzerland, in the year 
1823. His parents are Heinrich and Barbara Althaus. Names of his sisters and 
brothers--Mary, Barbara, Elizabeth, Henry, John, Gothart, Catherine, John 
(deceased), and Gothart (deceased). His wife was born in Wayne County, in 
1841. Their children are Mary (deceased), Andrew and Werner. Mrs. Althaus was 
Barbara Amstutz. Her parents are, Peter and Barbara. She has a sister, Anna, 
and three brothers--Peter, Joseph and John.
